Now, I'm not a girl of the 80's, but I've always loved Cyndi Lauper. I felt that because she was part of it, I just had to have it. When I found out that the proceeds from my purchase went to the MAC Aids Fund, it just gave me more incentive. But thankfully, Viva Glam Cyndi is a gorgeous wearable everyday color that doesn't leave me looking like a clown.
Viva Glam Cyndi is a limited edition lipstick from MAC. It's a lustre formula, which is personally my favorite as I find they don't sit in my lip lines like most lipsticks do. It applies slightly opaque, but is still sheer enough that your lip color can pull through. The color is very much so a cherry red, it has some faint coral overtones which I feel really warm up my skin. It's not a vibrant red, but it still has enough of a punch that I probably wouldn't wear something too extravagant on the eyes. I like pairing this up with a nude eye or a coat of a soft shimmery gold (my fave is YDK by Urban Decay), soft peachy cheeks, and lots of mascara. It lasts an okay amount of time. I usually get a few hours of wear before I need to reapply, but if you eat or drink you are obviously going to need to reapply. I paid $16.50 CAD for this before tax, which I do feel is a lot for a lipstick, but the quality is there. I feel a bit better knowing my money went to a good cause.
Overall, I really like this lipstick and would definitely recommend this for a purchase.
It can be purchased at MAC stores and online, as well as in The Bay in Canada.
FTC Info: I purchased this with my own money, I was not sent this by a PR Firm, and I am not being paid for this review, it is my honest opinion.
